Pairing in Inhomogeneous Superconductors
Starting from a t-J model, we introduce inhomogeneous terms to mimic stripes. We find that if the inhomogeneous terms break the SU(2) spin symmetry the binding between holes is tremendously enhanced in the thermodynamic limit. In any other model (including homogeneous models) the binding in the thermodynamic limit is small or neglible. By including these inhomogeneous terms we can reproduce exp...
متن کاملRKKY interaction in Layered Superconductors with Anisotropic Pairing
The RKKY interaction between rare-earth (RE) ions in high-Tc superconductors is considered at T ≪ Tc. It is shown that this interaction consists of two terms: conventional oscillating one and the positive term, which is proportional to the gap function and decreases in the 2D case inversely proportional to the distance. In the antiferromagnetic state of the RE subsystem this positive interactio...
متن کاملThe J-triplet Cooper pairing with magnetic dipolar interactions
Recently, cold atomic Fermi gases with the large magnetic dipolar interaction have been laser cooled down to quantum degeneracy. Different from electric-dipoles which are classic vectors, atomic magnetic dipoles are quantum-mechanical matrix operators proportional to the hyperfine-spin of atoms, thus provide rich opportunities to investigate exotic many-body physics. Furthermore, unlike anisotr...
متن کاملPairing symmetry in cuprate superconductors
Pairing symmetry in the cuprate superconductors is an important and controversial topic. The recent development of phase-sensitive tests, combined with the refinement of several other symmetry-sensitive techniques, has for the most part settled this controversy in favor of predominantly d-wave symmetry for a number of optimally holeand electron-doped cuprates. This paper begins by reviewing the...
